Afterschool Fashion Instructor (Grades K–5)
📍 Westchester County, NY 

🕒 Part-Time, Afternoons

About Us

FutureFashionStars.com is an afterschool program that brings the world of fashion, creativity, and sustainability to students in grades K–5. We introduce kids to the basics of fashion design, sewing, and upcycling through hands-on projects that build confidence, creativity, and self-expression.

Position Overview

We’re hiring engaging, reliable instructors to lead our Intro to Fashion classes across various locations in Westchester. This is a part-time opportunity ideal for instructors with experience in education, the arts, or fashion - who love working with kids.

Responsibilities


 

  • Lead small-group fashion classes (10–15 students, grades ranging K–5)
  • Guide students through mood board building, sketching, upcycling, and crafting projects
  • Set up and clean up classroom 
  • Care for materials provided by program director
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and fun learning environment
  • Travel to school sites across Westchester  
  • Communicate with the program director and support staff as needed






 

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children (teaching, afterschool, camps, childcare, etc.)
  • Able to manage a classroom with confidence and care
  • Interest or background in fashion, crafting, sewing and sustainability
  • Reliable transportation (must be able to drive to various locations)
  • Organized, enthusiastic, and dependable
  • Must pass a background check and provide 1-2 references

Bonus Skills 

  • Hand sewing or textiles experience
  • Visual arts, costume design, or crafting background
  • Experience in sustainable fashion design/upcycling 
  • Smartphone captures during class of crafts/fashion show etc.

Job Details


 

  • Schedule: up to 6 afternoons/week (typically ~2PM–5:00 PM. Classes are 1 hour)
  • Pay: Competitive, based on experience. We pay a flat rate per class.
  • Location: Various locations throughout Westchester County, NY
  • Start Date: Early September, 2025 - through Dec. 2025
