Job description:
- Develop and maintain Fit and Grading: input all elements of garment tech packs including tech flats, detailed construction pages, BOMs and graded specs
- Manage and maintain consistent fit and grade rules
- Participate in fittings to review all rounds of samples to ensure specs and construction are followed correctly
- Ensure overall fit, balance, and details of garment from prototype through production are correct by reviewing incoming samples
- Ensure vendors/factories have a clear understanding of specs and construction while maintaining consistency in fit and quality standards
- Be able to troubleshoot with overseas vendors to explain construction, fit, grading and pattern issues by any means necessary to achieve the best garment and fit while working in a fast-paced environment
- Build Strong sustaining long-term relationships with internal team and our vendor partners/factories
- Build QC forms to communicate important garment information and specs to the Quality Control Department
- Meeting with design to hand off new development styles
- Collaborate with Designers, Production, and PD to be cost effective while meeting MERSEA’s quality standard
- Consult and work with Design and PD to achieve fit and Aesthetic of style intent throughout the sampling and approval process
- Self manages workload and prioritize projects with a sense of urgency
- Adhere to deadline and priorities on the development and production calendar while communicating exceptions or potential issues to the team
- Work with cross functional partners to meet all deadlines and anticipate potential delay
- Follow current market trends, styling and construction engineering to continue to grow within the role as a Technical Designer
- Ability to develop and update CADs a plus
Qualifications:
- This candidate will be an independent thinker and an excellent team player with the ability to proactively problem solve
- Willingness to work hard, learn new things and follow through
- Excellent team building and communication skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator + Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, and Google Workspace a plus
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and projects to meet development deadlines
