Software Engineer

We are a start-up founded by two Stanford PhDs with technical backgrounds. We're searching for a software engineer who can work alongside the CTO/CEO to lay the groundwork for our app. Our start-up utilizes AI to facilitate real life social encounters between people. Our mission is simple: use AI and software to spark more authentic, in‐person connections. We believe the next frontier of social computing lies in amplifying offline human connection.

It's an opportunity to shape our product's technical future from the ground up. You'll be instrumental in building a scalable, robust platform that connects people through shared dining experiences.

We are currently operating in stealth mode and have secured millions in seed funding. The plan is to refine the product in the coming months (through current ongoing user trials) and then to blitz-scale in the coming fall/winter.

  • Full-Stack Powerhouse: Proven experience across the full software development lifecycle. You're comfortable with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js, and Tailwind) and robust back-end languages/frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python).
  • Mobile Experience is Beneficial: Experience in mobile app development, either native (iOS/Android) or cross-platform (e.g., React Native, Flutter) will be beneficial but not required.
  • Experience with LLMs and building Agents: Familiar with agentic tools (e.g., Langchain, Langraph, N8N, etc.), and querying LLMs through APIs.
  • Scalability Experience: Demonstrable track record of designing and building scalable, secure, and performant systems. You understand distributed systems, API design, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Database Experience: Proficient with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) and optimal data storage and retrieval.
  • Experience with Algorithms: Strong foundational knowledge and practical experience with algorithms, data structures, and complex problem-solving. Direct experience with or a strong aptitude for developing matching algorithms, recommendation engines, or graph-based systems is highly desirable.
