
HPLC Lab Technician
Job Title: HPLC Lab Technician – Dietary Supplements
Job Summary:
HPLC Lab Technician to perform routine and specialized testing of raw materials and finished dietary supplement products. This role involves preparing samples, operating High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) systems, and analyzing data to ensure products meet label claims, purity, and regulatory standards. The technician will work closely with various departments to ensure proper sample submission and will be involved in training other technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform HPLC analysis on raw materials, in-process blends, and finished dietary supplement products to verify active ingredient content and ensure compliance with BRC and cGMP standards
- Conduct HPLC testing on stability samples to monitor product shelf-life and integrity over time
- Operate, clean, and perform routine maintenance on HPLC systems to ensure reliable performance
- Ensure timely execution of annual HPLC instrument qualification and calibration per regulatory requirements
- Support method development and validation efforts for new formulations and R&D samples
- Perform general laboratory testing such as pH, moisture content, refractive index, disintegration (DT), and dissolution in support of product quality assessments
- Collect and test water samples from the Liquid Department for quality and contamination monitoring
- Conduct basic microbiological testing as part of R&D and assist in microbiological method validations when needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, QA, R&D) to coordinate proper sample submissions and ensure workflow efficiency
- Assist in training and mentoring junior lab staff or new technicians on procedures and equipment use
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field
- Experience with HPLC techniques and supplement testing preferred
- Familiarity with cGMP, GLP, FDA 21 CFR Part 111, and USP methods
- Proficient in HPLC data software (e.g., Empower, OpenLab, ChemStation)
- Strong documentation, attention to detail, and lab safety skills
- 1-2+ years experience in laboratory
