Department:                  NYCT- Counterterrorism & Security Initiatives

Location:                       130 Livingston Street

Position Title:                Counterterrorism & Security Initiatives, Emerging Talent Intern

Hourly Rate:                  $22.00 (Post-Graduate)

 

OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT:

We support MTA New York City Transit’s mission of moving people by focusing on the security needs of the agency and advising executive staff on managing security risk to provide a secure system for our customers, visitors and employees

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Get familiar with NTD Reporting requirements as listed in the FTA Safety and Security Policy Manual.
  • Review Data and Incident Narratives.
  • Analyze Data for Accuracy and Completeness.
  • Ensure timely reporting to the NTD.
  • Generate Incident Trend Analysis Reports.
  • Take the minutes for division meetings.
  • Assist with other department and division projects as needed.
  • Prepare and collate document for presentations.

 

PROJECTS:

  • Compliance with Federal Regulations.
  • Generate Incident Trend Analysis Reports.
  • Maintain Data

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.

The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills.

The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.

The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Matriculated in an undergraduate program in good standing with at least 2.5 GPA AND/OR matriculated in a graduate program in good standing with at least 2.8 GPA

Major(s) Preferred: Criminal Justice; Political Science; Business; Finance
