Lab Assistant (Benedict Lab)

Job Summary

The Benedict Lab at La Jolla Institute for Immunology is looking for a motivated individual

with an interest in science and would like to gain experience working in an immunology

research lab. Under general supervision, the Lab Assistant will be responsible for

performing a wide variety of research laboratory tasks and experiments including making

buffers, stocking supplies, and maintaining equipment. The successful candidate will also

learn how to perform a variety of molecular biology, virology and immunology research

techniques. Work on assignments of moderate complexity in which judgment and initiative

is required to solve problems is expected. Making detailed observations, analyzing data

and interpreting results will also be required. Refer to the Benedict Lab Page for a

Live mice handling will be required.

 

Leveling Requirements

Requires a high school diploma, AA degree or equivalent experience with a scientific

background. Seeking current 1st year undergraduate. Experience with mice is not required

but is a plus.
