About Our Agency:

South Carolina ETV (SCETV) is the state's public educational broadcasting network. SCETV amplifies South Carolina voices, provides educational experiences, and strengthens communities while working to create a stronger, more connected, and informed South Carolina. SCETV provides national and local content to classrooms via internet services Knowitall.org and PBS Learning Media. SCETV also provides teacher training and re-certification in face-to-face and online settings. 

Job Purpose: 

This position plays a critical role in supporting local news content development for South Carolina ETV and Public Radio. As part of the Content Team, this position will apply data-driven strategies to produce local news segments for morning and/or afternoon drive time shows.

Job Duties: 

Works collaboratively with the News team to produce early morning and/or afternoon news segments (i.e., Morning Edition and All-Things Considered). Develops the content and flow for each show, deciding which stories to cover and in what order. Creates and/or edits scripts for on-air talent. Monitors news feeds and social media for relevant information. Ensures that all information presented is factual and up to date. Ensures all technical aspects of the show are running smoothly. Supports the team in the creation of digital and social content.

Candidate is expected to work 25-30 hours per week. 

 

Minimum and Additional Requirements

 

 

A high school diploma and experience or additional education in the production of radio or television programs. Candidate should have experience producing a show for radio broadcast. Candidate should be comfortable working non-traditional hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends. 
 

Preferred Qualifications

 

 

 

Experience with creating content for public media is preferred.
