Education Specialist

Program Description: College & Career Ready, Set, Go! is a college and career readiness program for students in grades 5-12. Students receive lessons throughout the school year, equipping them with the tools to be successful in high school and beyond. The program offers hands-on activities, career exploration, and family engagement events. 

Job Description: PIE is currently seeking an Education Specialist to join our team for the upcoming school year. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Education Specialist 

  • Prepare & facilitate hands-on, inquiry based lessons 
  • Create an individualized teaching schedule for each school 
  • Communicate with parents, teachers, administration, and professionals in the community
  • Input, record and manage student level data 
  • Coordinate guest speakers, volunteers, field trips, and other events 
  • Plan, market, and host family engagement events 
  • Work as a team to write, develop, and revise curriculum 
  • Engage, motivate, and inspire students to learn 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Collecting data to aid the organization with measuring performance outcomes and securing program fidelity.
  • Communicating efficiently with school administrators, teachers, and colleagues
  • Engaging, motivating, and inspiring students to learn.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of student and school information.
  • Working collaboratively; being a team player
  • Tracking attendance of volunteers and students.
  • Collecting data and dispersing as necessary, including administering student assessments.
  • Attending regularly-scheduled staff meetings. 
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Essential Functions

  • Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, stand, walk and sit for long periods of time. 
  • Working conditions are normal for an office/school environment and include operating a motor vehicle in a safe manner while attending scheduled sessions and events as required. 
  • Communicate professionally at all levels and work independently as needed. 
  • Read, comprehend information and ideas, and convey information effectively. 
  • Meet pre-employment requirements including background check.
  • Work a schedule which corresponds with the school calendar 
  • Collaborate with others effectively and problem solve independently.

Requirements include

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent and at least 1-2 years experience working with students
  • Proficient in Google Workspace and other software applications.
  • Ability to perform duties with awareness of district requirements and policies and maintain student confidentiality as necessary.
  • Must be reliable and dependable with a positive attitude.
  • Great organizational and time management abilities including a healthy work/life balance.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve and be flexible.

Job Type: Part-time, 15+ hours per week. $20/hr
