Position Overview
As an Outside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for building and growing customer relationships within your assigned territory. Working closely with an Inside Sales Representative, you will identify new opportunities, expand existing accounts, and serve as the face of NEP Electronics to our customers.
Your role combines technical expertise, consultative selling, and relationship management, helping customers find reliable, engineered solutions for their applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a territory of active, dormant, and warm lead accounts within a 2-hour radius of Wood Dale, IL.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through customer visits, presentations, and relationship building.
- Partner with your Inside Sales Representative to manage quotes, orders, and account activities.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop solutions that meet customer needs.
- Provide on-site technical support and product recommendations to customers.
- Utilize Salesforce and Global Shop to manage account information, pipelines, and sales activity.
- Maintain strong, long-term relationships by ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Attend trade shows, training sessions, and industry events as required.
Qualifications
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, with prior experience in outside sales, account management, or business development (electronics industry experience a plus).
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel within the assigned territory regularly.
- Comfortable using CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) and ERP systems (Global Shop or similar).
- A self-starter with a results-driven mindset and commitment to customer success.
- Eager to learn, grow, and contribute in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Training & Development
We provide a thorough training program starting on your first day, covering our systems, product knowledge, and customer engagement strategies. NEP is willing to train motivated individuals with no prior sales or industry experience, offering the tools and support needed for success.
Compensation
NEP offers a starting salary of $50,000+, with total compensation reflecting experience, qualifications, and performance.
