Accounting Intern

Position Title: Accounting Intern

Reports To: Accounting Manager

Job Type: Part time (20 hrs./week)

Location: Onsite, Lawrenceville, GA

Pay Rate: $18/hr.

Duration: January 13th - April 25th (flexible dates as needed)

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

Majors Management, LLC is a leader at operating, developing, servicing and supporting retail convenience centers and gas station properties, and a leading distributor of high-quality branded motor fuels. Majors currently owns 800+ convenient stores across 19 states. The primary purpose of the Accounting Intern is to assist in projects related to general accounting procedures and to learn more about the convenience store industry. This internship will consist of the following 3 rotations: bank reconciliations, accounts payable & receivable, and general ledger analysis/reconciliations.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with the reconciliation of bank accounts in various banks
  • Assist with general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations including accruals and amortizations
  • Communicate with other accounting personnel regarding bank variances
  • Input invoices in AP module and submit for approval
  • Create check batches in AP module and submit for approval
  • Create AR batches to post rents received to tenant ledgers and submit for approval
  • Learn and use software utilized by the company
  • Participate in company wide intern learning events and engagement activities
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • In pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (preferably seniors and juniors, open to sophomores and freshman who have taken at least Principles of Accounting)
  • Ability to work onsite 20 hours a week in Lawrenceville, GA
  • Eagerness to learn and willingness to adapt in a collaborative environment
  • Authorized to work in the United States without restriction
