Part-Time Music Teacher

Position Summary:

Hope Lutheran School is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic part-time Music Teacher to join our team for the 2025–2026 school year. The Music Teacher will lead engaging and age-appropriate music classes for students in kindergarten through 8th grade. The role includes teaching basic music concepts, vocal instruction, rhythm, movement, and preparing students for seasonal programs.

Responsibilities:

Teach music classes to kindergarten through 8th grade students.
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate music lessons aligned with student age and abilities.
Introduce students to musical concepts such as rhythm, pitch, melody, harmony, and dynamics.
Incorporate instruments, singing, movement, and music games into lessons.
Prepare students and direct the Christmas program and spring concert.
Maintain a positive, Christ-centered classroom environment.
Communicate with school staff and administration as needed.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 30 college credit hours in the educational field.
Teaching experience with children in an educational setting.
Ability to play a musical instrument or accompany student singing (preferred).
Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
Committed to the mission and values of Hope Lutheran Church and School.

 

Schedule & Compensation:

Work Hours: Fridays, 9:00 AM – 1:45 PM
Start Date: September 5, 2025
Compensation: $15/hour
