Ticknology, a leader in tick-borne disease diagnostics, is seeking a highly motivated Molecular Biologist with strong PCR expertise to join our dynamic laboratory team. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to critical molecular diagnostic work that directly impacts public health and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret molecular assays including PCR, qPCR, and related techniques for pathogen detection in tick specimens.
• Prepare and process samples in compliance with CLIA and laboratory quality standards.
• Analyze and report test results with a high degree of accuracy.
• Assist in assay optimization, validation, and troubleshooting of molecular workflows.
• Maintain detailed laboratory records and adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Support the development and implementation of new diagnostic technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related life sciences field.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience performing PCR/qPCR in a research or clinical laboratory setting.
• Familiarity with nucleic acid extraction methods, contamination prevention, and proper use of controls.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in a CLIA-certified or diagnostic lab is preferred but not required.
• MB(ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) certification is a plus.
