Salary: $6,000 per season plus $50 per meet

Green Hawk Swim Club is a dedicated and community-focused youth swim team that fosters a love of swimming, teamwork, and personal growth. Our team is committed to developing athletes both in and out of the pool, encouraging a positive and supportive environment for swimmers of all ages and skill levels. We are looking for a passionate, experienced, and dynamic Head Swim Coach to lead our coaching staff and help take our team to the next level.

Job Description:

As the Head Swim Coach, you will be responsible for the overall management and development of the swim team. You will lead and inspire swimmers while creating a positive, motivating environment where athletes can grow, challenge themselves, and excel in the sport. This role includes planning and implementing training sessions, coordinating team events, and developing swimmers’ technical skills to ensure long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:

Training & Development:
Design and implement training programs tailored to swimmers of various skill levels, focusing on technique, endurance, and personal commitment to growth.
Provide consistent feedback to swimmers to help them improve their performance.

Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and motivate assistant coaches and team members to ensure a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment.
Foster teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship both in and out of the pool.

Competition & Meet Planning:
Organize and oversee the team's participation in swim meets and competitions.
Prepare swimmers for competition through structured warm-ups, race strategy, and mental preparation.

Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for swimmers, parents, and team administration.
Provide regular updates to parents about swimmers' progress and upcoming events.
Promote team values and engage with the broader swim community.

Administrative Duties:
Manage swim team schedules, organize and run daily swim practices on weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings, coordinate with swim meet organizers, and ensure all required paperwork is completed.
Assist with team registration, fundraising, and marketing efforts.

Qualifications:

Experience:
Previous coaching experience at the youth or competitive level, preferably with a swim team.
Experience in developing swimmers from beginner to advanced levels.

Certifications:
Current Lifeguard Certification (or ability to obtain).
USA Swimming Coaching Certification (or ability to obtain).

Skills & Attributes:
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
A deep understanding of swim techniques, training methodologies, and competitive strategies.
Passionate about youth development and fostering a positive, inclusive team culture.
