PAY RATE: $18.69 - $24.45, depending on qualifications and experience

Schedule: Wednesday-Saturday

JOB SUMMARY

The primary responsibilities of this position will be to manage a small crew in the performance of landscape maintenance for all parks with scheduled sports, with an emphasis on weed control.
Secondary responsibilities of this position will be to maintain and prep sports fields such as baseball, softball, soccer, football, etc.
Performs a variety of working level skilled and semi-skilled duties related to the construction, installation, maintenance, upkeep and repair of recreation facilities, parks, grounds and general environs.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Two years of progressively responsible experience in the maintenance, upkeep, and beautification of turf, parks, facilities and related environs; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid Utah Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A or B) required within 6 months of hire date.
Valid Utah Non-Commercial Pesticide Applicators License required within 6 months of hire date.
Other certifications may be required.
Must have some knowledge of equipment such as backhoe, loader, dump truck, mower, tractor, power over-seeder, aerator, thatcher, welder, trimmers etc.
Must have knowledge of landscape and sprinkler system design, flow pumps, hazards of related safety precautions associated with equipment operations.
Knowledge of herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, and pesticides and the proper application of them.
Have a knowledge of turf management and have good interpersonal communication skills.

Employment in this position is conditional upon passing a pre-employment background and drug test.
