Controls Engineer I (Peoria, AZ)

Controls Engineer I

We have 1 full-time openings for entry level controls engineers to start July 13, 2026.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and implement PLC/HMI/OIT programs, SCADA systems, IT/OT network infrastructure, and low voltage control panels.
  • Ensure project execution aligns with company engineering practices and quality methodologies.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to timelines and budgetary constraints.
  • Advocate for project risk management and safety processes throughout all project phases.
  • Participate in our comprehensive 5-week paid onboarding program, EA University, and ongoing certification trainings.
  • Communicate proactively and effectively with team members and management.

Location: Peoria, AZ office, in-office 5 days/week

Salary range: $80,000 - $85,000

Benefits: Fully employer-paid healthcare coverage options, 401K with up to 3% employer match, annual minimum of 23 days of paid time off

Required skills and experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering (chemical, electrical, or mechanical preferred).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with process control, automation, networking, low voltage panel design, SQL/database, and PLC/HMI is a plus.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in all engineering practices.
  • Ability to work on average, 40-45 hours per week, inclusive of travel for client site work or other business purposes

What you’ll be working on:

  • Project-based engineering services include consulting, design, implementation, and maintenance for clients in water/wastewater, chemical, life sciences, and manufacturing industries. Engineers generally work on 1 to 4 active projects at a given time. Project sizes range from $50k to $3M and 1 month to 3 years in duration.
  • Our typical client utilizes medium-to-large size SCADA applications to control and monitor industrial equipment and processes. Components can include: 10-30 virtualized computers, 4+ layered networks, 1-50 field controllers, redundant data servers, data streams to business systems.
