Goodspeed Hall Practice Room Security Monitor

The Goodspeed Practice Room Security Monitor is responsible for overseeing the first-floor practice room area of Goodspeed Hall during after-hours. Duties include opening and securing the building at designated times, monitoring student access and exit, and ensuring the appropriate use of instruments and facilities. Monitors are expected to report any issues to the Lead Monitor. 

Additional responsibilities may include providing access to other areas of the building (e.g., 4th floor, Fulton Recital Hall) for special events and assisting with concert operations such as ushering and reception setup/cleanup. Other duties may be assigned as needed. 

Qualifications: 

  • Must be dependable and punctual. Scheduled building hours must be followed precisely.
  • Responsible and trustworthy, with the ability to work independently.
  • Evening and/or weekend availability required. A consistent schedule must be maintained throughout each academic quarter.
  • This is a full academic-year position (Autumn, Winter, and Spring Quarters). Students planning to study abroad, graduate early, or otherwise unavailable for the full year should not apply.

Work Schedule: Scheduled shift times are evenings and weekends. No work is scheduled during interim breaks.

Security Monitors are expected to work a minimum of two shifts per week (10 hours) and may be scheduled for up to four shifts per week (20 hours maximum) depending on shift availability.

Pay: $16.60 per hour; this position is not benefits eligible.
