
Visual Communications Intern
Council President Kenyatta Johnson, a former Pennsylvania State Representative, represents the Second Council District which includes parts of Center City, South Philadelphia, and Southwest Philadelphia. These sections include, but are not limited to: Grays Ferry, Hawthorne, Point Breeze, the Navy Yard and Eastwick neighborhoods. The Council President is always aspiring to provide opportunities for young adults. This internship program established in our office is one of those ways that the Council President can NOT ONLY inspire and provide young professionals with gaining real world experience, but also enlighten the youth on the importance of having a COMMANDING role in society.
Council President Kenyatta Johnson’s one(1) - three(3) month internship sessions are paid and for-credit, if your institution has those options.
Overview:
Join the Creative Services Department in Council President Kenyatta Johnson's office as a Photography Intern and gain hands-on experience in the world of photography. Assist our photographer in shoots, learn editing techniques, and contribute creatively to projects.
Responsibilities:
Assist with post-production tasks such as editing and organizing photos.
Support photographers during shoots.
Contribute ideas for photo shoot concepts and social media content.
Photo archival entry.
Qualifications:
Enthusiasm for photography and a desire to learn.
Knowledge of photography principles, using DSLR cameras and editing software in the Adobe Creative Cloud. (Lightroom/Lightroom Classic)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Portfolio or examples of event photography work (if available). Photojournalism and event photographers preferred.
Drivers license preferred.
Availability for two weekends.
Must be available on Thursdays.
