POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Natur-Tec is seeking a motivated and hands-on Entry-Level Process Engineer to join our Global Technical team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate passionate about sustainability and materials innovation to support the development and scale-up of bio-based and biodegradable plastic products.

In this role, you'll gain exposure to a wide range of processing technologies such as extrusion and molding, assist in lab-scale experimentation, and help bridge the gap from research to manufacturing. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across the globe and contribute to the transition toward sustainable materials.

 

 

ROLE AND DUTIES:

• Operate and optimize lab-scale processing equipment such as twin-screw compounders, blown film lines, and injection molding machines to support R&D efforts

• Support trial planning and data analysis using Design of Experiments (DOE) methodology.

• Collaborate with R&D scientists, product development teams, and manufacturing partners to transition new materials from lab to production scale.

• Document processing conditions, observations, and test results in a clear and organized manner; contribute to technical reports and product specifications

• Participate in continuous improvement and cost optimization initiatives related to materials and processing.

• Participate in scale-up trials at domestic and international contract manufacturing sites; troubleshoot processing challenges and provide technical support.

• Stay up to date on new technologies, materials, and industry trends in polymer processing and sustainable material

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or a related field.

• Coursework or internship experience in polymer processing (e.g., extrusion or compounding) is required.

• Familiarity with polymer characterization techniques and lab equipment is desirable.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.

• Effective written and verbal communication abilities.

• A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn in a fast-paced, global team environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB:

Tasks require standing and walking, or frequent light lifting up to 25 pounds; occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds; or minimal dexterity in the use of fingers, limbs, or body in the operation of shop or office equipment. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at keyboard or testing stations and extrusion machinery. Exposure and involvement working with various chemicals and testing stations/equipment will require mobility.
