Music Department Event House Manager

Supervise operations for Music Performance Program concerts and events across campus, including regular ensemble concerts, private recitals, and other Departmental and rental events. Assist with hall and stage set-up, post-concert receptions, distributing programs, and making concert announcements. Frequently used performance spaces include Fulton Recital Hall, Logan Center Performance Hall and Penthouse, and Mandel Hall. Manage security of performance space, monitor maintenance, and report problems as needed.

This position is part of a nine person team. The number of managers assigned to each event depends on the location and scale of each performance. Event Managers are required to work a minimum of 8 events per quarter, averaging 4 hours per event, plus at least 3 out of the 6 University Symphony Orchestra performances over the course of the academic year. There is an average of 50 events per quarter, and there is no cap on the number of events one person can work.

Qualifications: Must be a responsible and mature member of Music Department team who is completely trustworthy and dependable. Excellent customer service and communication skills are required to deal with both performers and audience members. Knowledge of standard concert protocol and care of instruments preferred. Ability to handle physical component of job, which requires moving tables and chairs as well as setting up reception supplies. Observance of dress code for concerts and formal events. Flexible hours; nearly all shifts are during evenings and weekends.

Public Notes: This is a full academic year position; candidates must be available to work Autumn, Winter, and Spring Quarters. Students who plan to study abroad, graduate early, etc. should not apply. All Event House Managers are required to attend a mandatory training session at the beginning of the academic year. This position is not benefits eligible.
