Job Summary:

 

University Relations and Marketing (URM ) is seeking an Integrated Marketing and Communications (IMC ) Manager. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE ), 12-month, professional faculty position.

 

The Integrated Marketing and Communications Manager works with the Integrated Marketing Communications Director to support brand campaigns aimed to create awareness, advance reputation and grow innovation impact in assigned areas drawn from those outlined in the university’s strategic plan.

 

As part of University Relations and Marketing (URM ) and with access to expertise, capabilities and channels within URM , this position acts as a consultant and advisor to administrators, faculty, students and staff on marketing and communications best practices, engagement strategies, consumer awareness, earned media, thought leadership, sponsorships, and digital and social media.

Key Responsibilities

 

Key Responsibilities 90% Integrated Marketing and Communications Management

 

• Manages communications and marketing projects across the university, including managing timelines, presentation of work and supervision of support staff.

• Segment and address specific opportunities and success outcomes with public and private grant sponsors, alumni, donors, peer organizations, professional societies and conferences, legislative representatives and government agencies, industry partners, traditional media, social media, prospective faculty and students. Responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with these contacts.

• Builds relationships with internal and external partners to promote and ensure collaboration and partnership opportunities for marketing and communication efforts.

• Provides subject matter expertise and review for marketing strategies and plans for units and colleges across campus to ensure alignment with university wide policies and strategies.

• Develop key messages, differentiators and value propositions related to various components of the plan.

• Draft internal and external communications, including copy for marketing and communications collateral and web content.

• Collaborate extensively with URM teams to support tactical implementation of marketing communications strategies.

• Oversee the successful execution of marketing communications tactics within target budget and timelines ensuring execution remains tied to plan objectives and strategies.

• Work with analytics, closely monitor plan results and regularly report back to college and administrative leaders.

 

10% Marketing and Communications Leadership

 

• Advise and counsel administrative leaders, faculty and staff on effective marketing and communications strategies to achieve organizational reputation and growth goals.

• Manages communications and marketing projects across the university, including managing timelines, presentation of work and supervision of support staff.

 

What You Will Need

 

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, business, data analytics or a related field is required.

• Three years of related experience in marketing or communications with demonstrated experience in managing marketing plans and tactics.

• Work experience should include participation in marketing plan development, communications and expertise in tactics that range from developing collateral material to digital content to highly targeted, audience-specific initiatives.

• Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills a must. Must be highly organized and show attention to detail. Ability to inspire confidence, earn trust and collaborate in a way that builds relationships.

• Demonstrated understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion concepts and issues as they apply to university marketing and communications.

 

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

 

What We Would Like You to Have


 

• Master’s degree, certificate or demonstrated commitment to continuing education in marketing, advertising, data analytics or business.

• Five years of related experience in communications, marketing communications or marketing with demonstrated experience in driving the implementation of strategic communications plans and tactics.

• Experience working with research, education and community programs in an academic environment or large nonprofit preferred.

 

Working Conditions / Work Schedule

 

This position is hybrid with the base location to be in Corvallis, Oregon.
