This job position is a Research Assistant working within the Criminal Justice Department supporting applied research projects related to crime analysis.  It is a pilot program for one semester as part of a proposed Center of Police Excellence (COPx).  Students need good research skills, writing skills and be able to work independently.  This is a part time (16 hrs per week) paid research assistant position reporting to Dr. Noah Fritz.  

The research will include literature reviews, basic statistics, crime mapping, and the evaluation of policy and public safety software utilized in police department and real time crime centers.  Students need to be Juniors or Seniors, having already taken CRJU 407, Advanced Crime Analysis and potentially enrolling in the CRJU 457 Capstone or Applications course in Fall or Spring 2025-26.  

Criminology & Criminal Justice majors or related majors in the College of Arts and Science with an interest in crime and intelligence analysis may apply and be considered.  If the position cannot be filled within the Criminal Intelligence Analysis, B.S. program, it can be taken in conjunction with 3-6 hours of credits in course number: CRJU497-002-2025_Fall / course name: Independent Study 002 (4782249)
