Behavior Technician
Position title: Behavior Technician
Hours: Average of 30-37 hours per week
Job description: Behavior technicians are responsible for the direct implementation of behavior analytic programs and behavior plans as designed by a BCBA. Program goals typically involve developing communication, social, functional, and pre-academic skills as well as reduction of negative behaviors.
Responsibilities:
- Work 1:1 with children with ASD to provide intensive behavioral instruction, including discrete trial teaching
- Collect and maintain accurate data and records in client case notes
- Maintain client confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with other technicians, BCBAs, parents, and other stakeholders
- Participate in regular meetings and trainings
- Use professional judgment to respond to client requests and needs
- Determine appropriate action within clearly defined guidelines
- Accept feedback and fidelity checks in a professional manner and respond appropriately
- Meet annual requirements for maintaining RBT credential
Qualifications
- Work independently with minimal direction
- Minimum of high school diploma (bachelor’s or associates degree in psychology, special education, social work, or a related field preferred)
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet assigned deadlines
- Capable of actively playing with children in a variety of environments
- Basic knowledge of ABA and experience implementing behavioral techniques strongly preferred
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
- Reliable means of transportation
- Must complete RBT certification within 90 days of hire (if not already certified)

- Starting pay: $15-18 per hour based on education and experience

- At 90 days, you earn 25 hours of PTO. At 180 days, you earn 25 hours of PTO. After one year of employment, you earn 55 hours of PTO to be taken the following year. After two years of employment, you earn 90 hours of PTO to be taken the following year. After three years of employment, and each year thereafter, you earn 160 hours of PTO. This is available to part-time employees working 24-29 hrs at a rate of 80%.
