Pediatric Occupational Therapist
Job description
ABOUT MOCO MOVEMENT CENTER
MOCO Movement Center is a private pediatric occupational, physical, and speech therapy practice located in Kensington, MD. At MOCO, we apply therapy in the real occupations of childhood, such as rock-climbing, ice-skating, music, sports, climbing over obstacle courses, and more. In order to support participation in real-life activities we use our amazing 5,000 square foot gym full of ever-changing giant obstacle courses, a synthetic ice rink, classroom-style musical instruments, and two styles of climbing walls. Our partnerships with community sites allow us to get our kids out of the clinic and into the real world during sessions. We target our therapeutic goals through activities that are high-interest for the child and that have opportunities for life-long participation. Our aide model pairs therapists with aides who are often clinical professions students and who are knowledgeable in 1 or more of our high-interest activities. Our aides can partner with the therapist to match therapy goals to the steps in learning a specific activity, can act as a “near-peer” model for our clients as they work on new skills, and can work directly with the client while our therapists step back from a session to consult with parents and/or observe to reassess the child’s needs. The working environment at MOCO is very supportive and open. We provide direct interdisciplinary mentorship with our therapy director each week. As a team, we are invested deeply in learning and growing together through examination of new literature and discussion of interventions. We look forward to welcoming new therapists into this wonderful team!
MOCO Movement Center is a peanut free facility.
MOCO Movement Center is not a latex free environment. Therefore, some latex exposure can be expected
