Nutrient Marketing Specialist

SUMMARY 

  • Assists Nutrient Marketing Manager to market alum lime for agricultural use or other beneficial uses.
  • Works with Nutrient Marketing Manager and Managing Director to seek out, secure and maintain field acres for effective utilization of agricultural nutrient. 
  • Manages reporting process for consistent practices on spreading and application of alum lime.
  • Seeks out new opportunities to expand in DWTM or related businesses.
  • Develops and implements strategic initiatives in the market.
  • Seeks out niche markets and opportunities to expand product sales.
  • Works with Management Team to build cost-based proformas on a variety of beneficial reuses for DWTM. 
  • Works with current relationships at aggregate producers to wholesale or retail their products. 
  • Gathers, maintains, and provides to office nutrient application records. 
  • Develops and maintains nutrient management plans.
  • Works with Nutrient Marketing Manager to schedule field activities and carry out project plans, and ensure safe delivery of product. 
  • Manages customer relations.
  • Other duties as assigned.   

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

4-year bachelor’s degree, or higher, is required with a strong preference for Agronomy, Soil Science, or other related field. Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in sales or marketing management in ag-related area. 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, outstanding communication abilities, and ability to influence others at all levels. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, contracts, budgets, and reports.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.  Ability to communicate effectively with customers and vendors in person, on the phone, and via other electronic methods.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, draw and interpret graphs, statistics and spreadsheets.

 

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving concrete facts and many variables in various situations.
