
Website Technician
Nature of Work
Assists the Communications Division during the transition to a new municipal website. Acts as a consultant to departments as they analyze their current webpages and prepare content for migration to the new site. Website Technician will also assist Communications and Human Resources divisions with the migration of the current web-based intranet onto the Sharepoint platform. Will assist the Communications and Engagement Manager with other website-related tasks, as assigned.
HOURS
18 hours per week with flexible scheduling available. Combination of hybrid and in-person availability desired. Six (6) month initial term, with possibility of extending for an additional 6 months.
Job Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Assist the website project team with administrative tasks related to creation of new website.
- Assist with website management, including content creation, editing existing content and assisting users across departments.
- Work with departments to review current website data and prepare existing content for migration.
- Assist with creating outline for content organization on new employee Sharepoint site.
- All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree with 2-3 years of experience related to the position OR at least five years of experience related to the position.
- Experience with website content management systems.
- Experience developing and editing website content.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in a local government office setting.
- Previous relevant communications experience.
- Experience with Civic Plus content management system and Sharepoint.
- Ability to speak a language, other than English, that is prevalent in the community, i.e., Spanish, Somali, Vietnamese, Hmong, etc.
