JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

To support Cooperative’s marketing, communications, and outreach objectives by assisting in the creation of dynamic marketing programs, publications, and internal/external communications. This role provides both administrative and creative assistance to ensure the effective operation of the Marketing and Strategic Services Department.

 

Part-Time Work Schedule

This is a part-time position requiring a minimum of 20 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours during peak periods, such as special campaigns, events, or seasonal activities. Work may include weekend and after-hours events, with a maximum of 999 hours annually.

 

Essential Functions

  1. Completing with day-to-day operations and projects within the Marketing and Strategic Services Department.
  2. Performing administrative and creative tasks in support of marketing efforts, occasionally collaborating with other departments on special projects or campaigns.
  3. Helping plan, coordinate, and execute internal and external publications and events, such as the Annual Meeting of Members, Safety Magic Show, scholarships, youth trips, and other outreach programs.
  4. Supporting marketing and promotional initiatives for Aiken Electric Cooperative and its subsidiary, CarolinaConnect, including assistance in ordering and maintaining promotional materials and inventory.
  5. Enhancing the Cooperative’s visibility and brand awareness through community engagement, public relations, and marketing campaigns.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.


Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, the employee may be required to walk or stand occasionally, use hands, fingers to handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

 

Travel

Periodic travel may also be required for local event coverage and attendance at in-state training sessions.

Occasional local travel required, including running errands on behalf of the Marketing department and other cooperative departments as needed.

 

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, or a related field.
  2. At least (1) year of experience in communications, marketing, graphic design, or public relations
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and proofreading
  5. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (or similar design software), and basic knowledge of graphic design and photography


Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Knowledge of electricity and broadband usage and basic application.
  2. Broad experience in the development and implementation of marketing programs.


Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Valid Driver’s License.
  2. Legally eligible to work in the United States.
