About the Fellowship
The WCM Impact Fellowship is a paid, part-time opportunity for an early-career professional seeking real-world experience in nonprofit fundraising, community engagement, communications, and data strategy. It’s a front-row seat to the work of a growing, equity-centered music institution — and a chance to help expand access to the arts across the Washington, DC region.
Fellows work as part of a collaborative and supportive team of artists, educators, administrators, and fundraisers. You’ll be invited to contribute ideas, take ownership of projects, and help advance WCM’s mission of making music accessible to all.
What You'll Be Doing
As the WCM Impact Fellow, you’ll help deepen WCM’s reach, visibility, and sustainability through:
Donor engagement and stewardship, including prospect research, communications support, and tracking
Community engagement and outreach, by helping coordinate and staff enrollment events, school programs, and public concerts
Strategic communications, creating content for social media, newsletters, and appeals
Data management and reporting, supporting grant tracking, enrollment metrics, and campaign evaluation
You’ll wear many hats — but always with mentorship and support from WCM staff, and the chance to explore your professional interests in the nonprofit arts sector.
