The Office of Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-02) is seeking a Press & Digital Intern to work in his Washington, DC office for the Fall 2025 term. This is a paid internship. The internship is intended for current undergraduate students, graduate students, or recent graduates studying communication-related fields and are interested in gaining congressional communication experience. Ideal candidates will have strong written communication skills, a working knowledge of digital media, and the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment. Candidates with Connecticut ties are strongly encouraged to apply.

 

The Fall 2025 internship term runs from September through December 2025. Exact start and end dates are negotiable. Internships are in-person and offered on a part-time and full-time basis to accommodate student schedules.

 

Press & Digital Intern tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Drafting media advisories and/or press releases
  • Drafting copy for social media
  • Compiling daily press clips
  • Maintaining press lists
  • Taking photos at events and Congressional proceedings
  • Clipping and editing videos
  • Answering and screening constituent phone calls
  • Office administrative tasks 
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Communications team
