Frequently Asked Questions:
Are group tutoring sessions common?
It is more common for there to be one-on-one or one-on-two tutoring sessions than group tutoring sessions. Any group tutoring would likely be coordinated by office staff and discussed prior to any group tutoring sessions.
I have a B- in a subject. Can I still apply to tutor for that subject?
Our preference is for a tutor to have a B minimum in any subject they are tutoring. If you do have a B- and it is a subject you are comfortable tutoring, we’ll examine it on a case-by-case basis.
Where do I work?
Typically, our tutoring services take place in the Office of Academic and Retention Support, located at Simmons Hall 301. As a point of clarity, our tutoring services are not tied to Tutoring Services at Bierce Library.
