Public Policy Intern (Fall)
Location: Boston, MA
Time Commitment: Part-time (10-15 hours/week)
Duration: September 2nd – December 5th (with potential to extend through spring)
Position Overview
We’re seeking a highly motivated Public Policy Intern to join our team for the fall. This part-time internship offers hands-on experience supporting client work across a range of sectors, with opportunities to work on high-impact projects. Candidates should be rising college seniors with a strong interest in policy, communications, and strategic problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research on a variety of public policy issues and stakeholders
- Support writing projects including social media content, press releases, and media pitches
- Draft memos, briefing materials, and summaries to support client strategy
- Assist with media monitoring and help develop rapid response materials
- Create and maintain press lists, including reporters, editors, producers, and bookers
- Take clear and concise notes during internal and external meetings
- Contribute to special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Rising college senior pursuing a degree in public policy, political science, communications, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Demonstrated experience through prior internships (especially with elected officials), consistent work history, or having balanced school with part-time work
