Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Intern – CAD Design Specialist

Duration: 3 Months (with possible extension or direct hire)

Position Overview: Rev1 Technologies, a leader in innovative manufacturing solutions, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern with a strong background in CAD design and a passion for technology. This position will focus on evaluating and addressing manufacturing challenges faced by our clients in product development and quality control, utilizing our cutting-edge 3D scanning, 3D printing, and vision system technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Must have 3D printing Experinece
  • Must have CAD Modeling Experience - beginner/novice or better

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and understand customer needs and manufacturing processes to identify challenges in product development and quality control.
  • Use SolidWorks CAD software to create detailed models and drawings to propose solutions and improvements.
  • Engage with customers to gather feedback and refine design solutions.
  • Assist in the implementation and optimization of 3D Scanning hardware, 3D Printing hardware, and vision systems for defect inspections.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales and technical support, to ensure that our solutions align with client needs and Rev1 Technologies' standards.
  • Document and report project statuses, technical issues, and outcomes to project managers and stakeholders.

 

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge and understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
  • Familiarity with metrology in the manufacturing sector.
  • Experience or knowledge in 3D scanning and printing technologies.
  • Familiarity with vision systems used in high volume defect inspections.
  • Enthusiasm for technology and innovation in manufacturing.
