Instructional Design Intern

HealthHIV is excited to welcome an instructional design intern to join our team. The instructional design intern will work closely with our learning team and across the organization on a variety of projects and topics. Potential interns must be available to work at least 20 hours each week. Interns will be compensated hourly, commensurate with experience. An internship at HealthHIV offers many learning opportunities in a variety of areas.

Role Description

The instructional design intern will be part of a learning team responsible for projects across the organization and will contribute to the development of effective training and educational content on a variety of projects. This may include contributing to the design of an eLearning course, developing and publishing job aids, assisting in the production of videos, and setting up online courses in an LMS. The instructional design intern will be supervised by project leads and the Instructional Design Team. 

The instructional design intern may be asked to contribute to:

Course Development: HealthHIV’s learning management system (LMS), www.ehealthhiv.org, utilizes the moodle platform. On the LMS, HealthHIV has a number of self paced courses and certification programs. The instructional design intern may contribute to the courses offered bycreating content for the Moodle platform using tools such as Articulate Storyline or Camtasia. 

LMS Administration: The instructional design intern may be asked to assist with the administration of the LMS, including enrolling students in courses, answering questions, and uploading content to the appropriate courses. 

Course Improvement: Coursework that is offered may be improved and revised for engagement, learner retention, and accessibility. The instructional design intern may be asked to conduct reviews of the course content already in the Moodle system, make suggestions of improvements to the courses, and to design improvements to engage learners, increase accessibility, and improve the educational offerings of HealthHIV.
