Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our print shop production team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a background in graphic design and will be responsible for assisting in the production of printed materials, ensuring quality control, and maintaining the workflow of the shop. This role requires a blend of technical skills, creative abilities, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Support:
   • Operate and maintain various printing equipment (e.g., digital printers, copiers, binders, cutters).
   • Prepare and set up files for printing, ensuring accuracy and quality.
   • Monitor print jobs for quality, making adjustments as necessary.
   • Perform finishing tasks such as binding, cutting, laminating, and packaging.
2. Graphic Design:
   • Assist in the creation and modification of design files as needed.
   • Collaborate with clients to understand their design needs and ensure their vision is accurately translated into print.
   • Use graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) to create and edit designs.
3. Quality Control:
   • Inspect finished products for any defects or inconsistencies.
   • Ensure all print jobs meet company standards and client expectations.
   • Implement and follow standard operating procedures for quality assurance.
4. Customer Service:
   • Interact with customers to provide assistance with their printing and design needs.
   • Address customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
   • Provide recommendations on materials, finishes, and design improvements.
5. Shop Maintenance:
   • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
   • Perform routine maintenance on printing equipment.
   • Keep inventory of supplies and report any shortages to management.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a print shop or similar production environment.
• Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Strong understanding of print production processes and equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Standing for extended periods.
• Manual dexterity to operate printing and finishing equipment.

Hours:

• Part-time hours with flexibility to accommodate peak production times.
