What You Will Do
As a Senior Center Manager, you will manage the overall operations of a Senior Center, including supervision of staff and volunteers, program development and implementation, food service management, and statistical compilation. You will also coordinate building security and general maintenance. Your leadership will help to provide a safe, comfortable place for older persons to spend time and have social interactions.
Essential Duties
- Plan, develop, promote, and implement integrated programs and services for older adults utilizing a trauma informed approach. Promote participation in a healthy lunch nutrition program.
- Coordinate facility schedule, use, security, and maintenance. Work collaboratively with County and other local agencies.
- Assess the need for volunteers and instructors. Assist in recruitment, selection, and training.
- Collect and track monetary donations. Prepare and execute bank deposits.
- Identify program supply needs and assist in the procurement process.
- Create flyers and newsletters to advertise center activities.
- Review budgets and recommend reallocating resources when necessary.
- Implement standards developed in coordination with peers through policies, procedures, and work schedules. Lead team training to reinforce integrity, ethics, and use of best practices.
- Encourage collaboration and support team members work and development through mentorship. Through a trauma informed approach, build and maintain a welcoming workplace.
- Maintain transparent communication to support flow of information in the organization.
- Lead team operation to meet standards set in Federal, State, and local laws. Partner with legal counsel to ensure policies, procedures, and practices follow applicable Carroll County ordinances.
- May perform additional duties in supervisor’s absence.

You Might Be a Good Fit If
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Three or more years of related experience
- One or more years of supervisory experience or demonstrated ability to perform supervisory duties.
- A comparable amount of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirement.
Required Licenses and Certifications
- Valid driver's license
- National ServSafe certification (or must obtain within 6 months of employment)
- CPR, AED, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen certification (or must obtain within six months of employment)
Additional Information
- Requires criminal background check as condition of employment.
- Must be able to provide own transportation as needed for local travel.
- May be required to work outside of standard hours.
Working Conditions
- Must wear appropriate PPE as required.
- Frequent physical activity: standing/walking, pushing/pulling, bending, reaching, lifting and carrying, climbing steps, squatting, stooping, and related activities.
- Frequent exposure to potentially adverse environmental conditions, including, but not limited to, chemicals, noise, and airborne particles.
