
Diversity and Inclusion Program Intern

PRSA Pittsburgh has established the DEI Internship to attract more diverse young talent to public relations careers in the region.
- Overview -
The goal of the internship is to provide a student with real-world knowledge in PR while supporting day-to-day activities of the chapter. The internship is open and available to any junior or senior from racial and ethnic minority groups, racial and ethnic marginalized or minority groups, underserved or underrepresented groups, racial and ethnic minority students from a Pittsburgh-area university/college that supports internship credit.
- How it Works -
This would be a Fall internship, and the intern would work an average of 10-15 hours per week from September 8 through the end of November. The student would partner with PRSA’s executive board to determine a schedule that works for them while still meeting the requirements of a 3-4 credit internship. The student would be paid a stipend of $2,000.
- Job Description -
The PRSA Pittsburgh intern would report to a member of the PRSA Pittsburgh executive board and together would discuss weekly assignments, answer questions, and collaborate on the work that needs to be done. The selected intern is invited to attend the monthly PRSA Pittsburgh Board meetings and is expected to speak frequently with Board members as part of their job duties, which includes:
· Author blog posts on current trends and topics relevant to the PRSA membership
· Author email newsletter content for the PRSA membership
· Conceptualize and develop social media content in conjunction with the PRSA PGH social chair
· Develop promotional materials for upcoming events
· Provide event management support
· Develop sponsorship packages and work with sponsors to ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled
· Participate in the chapter's public service project and collaborate with the rest of the team to drive impactful results for our pro bono client
· Collaborate with PRSA President-elect on strategic planning for 2026

Complete the application here or directly on the PRSA Pittsburgh website and upload your current resume. PRSA Pittsburgh's executive board will review applications then conduct in-person interviews with the top 3-5 candidates. The final decision will be made by the PRSA Pittsburgh executive board.
