Manager/Director of Sync & Catalog

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, creative, and highly organized Manager/Director of Sync & Catalog to join our music publishing team. This hybrid role focuses on licensing our catalog for sync opportunities in film, television, advertising, video games, and digital media, while also helping to keep our song catalog organized, up to date, and properly registered with global rights organizations. The ideal candidate is passionate about music, experienced in sync licensing, and comfortable handling both the creative and administrative sides of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Pitch and license music from our catalog for film, TV, advertising, video games, and other sync opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with music supervisors, ad agencies, editors, and content producers.
  • Curate custom playlists and pitch decks tailored to specific briefs and client needs.
  • Monitor and respond to incoming sync requests and clearances.
  • Proactively pitch music for use in social media content across platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and more.
  • Organize, maintain, and tag the publishing catalog for optimal discoverability and pitching
  • Register all compositions with global Performing Rights Organizations (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC) and international sub-publishers.
  • Stay up to date with sync trends, copyright law, and PRO procedures.
  • Must be knowledgeable across all genres of music and able to work confidently with a diverse catalog.
  • Must have hands-on experience using DISCO for pitching, organizing music, and managing metadata.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in music sync licensing
  • Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience using DISCO
  • Balance multiple assignments at any given time and prioritize them effectively and appropriately
