Title:                          Development Coordinator

Job type:            Full time, exempt (40hrs/week) 

Reports to:        Director of Development

Supervises:    No direct reports 

Location:           This position is hybrid, requiring at least 2-3 days in the Concord office

 

Overview

The Development Coordinator is a key player on a collaborative, fast-paced team driving bold progress across the Northern Forest. You’ll help power our fundraising efforts by managing the systems, communications, and behind-the-scenes coordination that keep donor and investor engagement running smoothly.

 

From coordinating the Annual Fund to tracking major donor and impact investment activity, you’ll work closely with colleagues across the Fundraising and Communications team—and with staff, board members, and volunteers throughout the organization. Your work will help ensure that every campaign, meeting, and message is timely, strategic, and impactful.

Responsibilities

The Development Coordinator supports the Northern Forest Center’s fundraising and investment efforts by managing internal systems, donor communications, and campaign logistics. This role ensures smooth execution of the Annual Fund, major donor and investor engagement, and fundraising events through detailed coordination, data tracking, and cross-team collaboration.

 

Major Donor and Investor Program Support– 35%

  • Provide internal support for the major donor and impact investor program, especially for Donor and Investor Relations Officers, Director of Development and the President, as well as board and volunteers
  • Track donor and investor activity using the Center’s CRM and project management platforms, and maintain these systems and workflows to support donor and investor engagement
  • Conduct research and prepare briefing materials for frontline fundraisers
  • Generate reports and dashboards on fundraising and impact investment performance
  • Collaborate with Finance team to support investment activity and reconcile donor and investor data between Salesforce and Sage Intacct

 

Annual Fund & Campaign Coordination– 35%

  • Coordinate workflows, communications, and donor engagement for the Annual Fund, working closely with the Grants and Development Coordinator
  • Support project-specific fundraising campaigns, including scheduling, materials, and tracking
  • Maintain donor pipelines and assist with volunteer coordination, donor segmentation, and outreach
  • Prepare and distribute donor materials (e.g., mailings, pledges, proposals)
  • Assist with ensuring timely and accurate data entry and donor acknowledgments

 

Communications & Events – 30%

  • Use templates to create new materials, with responsibility for layout, coordinating review and edits, proofing, and printing or distribution using tools such as InDesign, Mailchimp, Canva, Visme, and PowerPoint.
  • Assist with donor communications, including appeals, newsletters, and annual reports in collaboration with the Director of Communications and Director of Development
  • Assist in planning and coordination of donor events, committee gatherings, and board meetings 
  • Maintain filing and sharing of fundraising-related materials
  • Support integration of digital tools and platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Mailchimp)

 

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines; familiarity with project management software (e.g. Asana) preferred
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication; experience with nonprofit storytelling a plus
  • Attention to detail in data entry and reporting
  • Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Canva)
  • Ability to coordinate meetings, calendars, and logistics
  • Comfortable generating reports and tracking investments
  • Collaborative, proactive, and team-oriented mindset
  • Interest in community, environmental, or economic development and passion for the Northern Forest region

 

Salary and Benefits

Salary range of $43-$52k commensurate with relevant experience. The Center provides a full benefits package including but not limited to employer-sponsored health insurance with vision coverage, short- & long-term disability coverage, flexible spending and dependent care accounts, employee-directed SIMPLE IRA with 3% match, 20 paid vacation days, 12 paid holidays in accordance with the Federal holiday schedule, 12 days paid sick leave, a flexible schedule and a supportive workplace culture.
