Foster Care On-Call Caseworker

Job Title: Foster Care On-Call Caseworker / Part-Time

 

Job Summary: The Foster Care On-Call Caseworker is responsible for after-hours, on-call casework services in accordance with regulations and policies. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Promptly respond to answering service calls after office hours, during weekends, and on holidays 

• Provide support and referrals to resource families as needed in consultation with supervisory staff 

• Notify appropriate parties regarding medical/psychiatric emergencies or safety concerns 

• Receive referrals and facilitate placements for emergency foster care and standby care 

• Complete required documentation and reports 

• Participate in required meetings and training as per COBYS policy

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree required, social service field preferred 

• Must pass State Police, Childline, and FBI clearances and pre-employment medical appraisal 

• Must possess a valid driver’s license, car insurance, and vehicle registration 

 

Physical Requirements: 

• Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, bend, stoop, squat, twist, crouch, kneel, lift, grasp, balance, push, and pull; occasional need to stand for extended periods of time 

• Ability to lift, push, and/or move up to 40 pounds, with or without assistance 

• Ability to reach with hands and arms and push items overhead

• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus 

• Ability to hear, respond, and talk 

• Mandatory dexterity as this job requires frequent use of hands and fingers, including firm grasping
