Communications Coordinator

Job Description

The Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Communications Coordinator to join its West Bloomfield location. The ideal candidate should have communications, public relations, marketing, and project management experience with an understanding of the Chaldean community. 

 

In this role, you will also be responsible for creating content for social media, managing website content, facilitating marketing campaigns, and creating collateral for events. The ideal candidate is fluent in English and Chaldean/Aramaic.

 

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Draft and review content for publications, press releases, emails, and internal/external communications on behalf of the CACC and the President.
  • Maintain consistent, high-quality branding and messaging across all channels.
  • Ensure that all materials present a clear, unified, and positive image for the CACC and support the overall organizational goals.
  • Manage digital marketing strategies, including email campaigns, social media, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Build social media presence, promote brand awareness, and facilitate community engagement. 
  • Create and maintain a content calendar; develop and post content across platforms including graphics, copy, and promoted content.
  • Execute key website projects and ongoing website tasks.
  • Provide day-to-day ownership and expertise on social content publishing tools (ex: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, hashtags, reposting, etc.), including posting of all content, moderation, and promoted post targeting.
  • Assist with event and membership promotion through various channels and collateral.
  • Attend staff events, meetings, and various off-site functions. 
  • Provide administrative support to ensure efficient office operations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 

 

Key Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and desktop publishing software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
  • Five years of experience in marketing, publications, or a related field required.

  • Experience with social media management tools such as Canva, CapCut, Flickr, and Loomly preferred. 
  • Proficiency with Constant Contact and Adobe Creative Cloud software.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional standing and walking around the office. 
  • Regular bending and reaching may be required.
  • Ability to lift or carry items up to 15 pounds at times. 
  • Ability to operate office equipment.
