Intern Software Engineer

Motion Grazer is focused on using computer vision and artificial intelligence, coupled with in-farm sensing hardware, to create precision livestock farming solutions for farmers.  Our systems will monitor livestock, automatically assess their health and welfare, and provide individualized animal analyses to farmers so that they can provide appropriate care.  Our team is passionate about bringing these transformative technologies from research to farms.

The candidate will implement algorithms for processing images and sensor data on an edge device as well as implement cloud-based data analysis.    The code will be a mixture of Python and C++ with some tasks needing to run realtime on our embedded computer.  Our system environment is Ubuntu Linux and tools we use include Git, OpenCV and TensorFlow and PyTorch.   The intern will gain experience developing complex software systems that process real data and make a measurable difference to farmers and animals.   

Applicant Requirements

  • Must be a Michigan resident.
  • Must either be a full-time student or have graduated with a bachelors or Masters within the past year.
  • Skilled in Python and C++ with good programming style with demonstrated experience
  • Experience with PyTorch or Tensor Flow required
  • Comfortable with Linux, Git and OpenCV
  • Well-organized and good communicator
