About the Role
We’re hiring a Junior Design Assistant to support our Founding Designer, who is officially listed on the NYFW calendar. This is a hands-on role that blends creativity with execution—you’ll support both The Tailory New York and Shao New York across fittings, sample development, vendor coordination, and seasonal show prep.
What You’ll Do
- Assist the designer in sample tracking, fittings, and collection development
- Organize fabrics, trims, sketches, and tech packs for both brands
- Coordinate communication with vendors, production partners, and patternmakers
- Prepare materials and samples for New York Fashion Week and special events
- Support backstage and showroom operations during shows, shoots, and presentations
- Maintain a clean, professional studio environment ready for fittings and creative work
Who You Are
- 1+ year of experience in fashion or design support
- Bachelor’s degree required (fashion-related preferred)
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and highly organized
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative studio environment
- Passionate about custom fashion, luxury design, and runway culture
- Eager to grow and learn from an experienced, visionary female designer
