SPS Consulting is seeking an exceptional, driven individual to join our team as a Federal Staff Auditor Intern supporting a federal audit project with a Big Four firm in Washington, DC. What You’ll Do

• Assist in executing day-to-day activities of federal audit engagements and contribute to delivering a high-quality audit product.
• Support internal audit projects: help direct activities, communicate with client leadership, and coordinate tasks with team members.
• Develop audit objectives, plans, and deliverables while analyzing evidence and identifying control gaps.
• Review audit findings, support report writing, and present recommendations to enhance internal controls.
• Build strong relationships with team members and client staff while working in a collaborative, hybrid environment.
• Gain hands-on experience with government auditing standards, financial systems, and federal compliance frameworks.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (or currently pursuing) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

0–1 years of accounting or audit experience – we welcome recent grads and seniors!

Strong communication skills and a desire to learn and contribute in a fast-paced professional setting.

Motivated, reliable, detail-oriented, and eager to work with a team.

Strong time management and organizational skills.

Familiarity with financial statements or internal controls a plus—but not required.
