Growth Associate

Organization Overview

GlobalGiving's mission is to transform aid and philanthropy to accelerate community-led change. We work with nonprofits, donors, and companies to support nonprofits around the world. To date, we have supported more than 40,000 charitable projects with over $1 billion in funding from nearly $2 million donors across 175 countries. We help Fortune 500 and other companies with employee engagement, consumer-facing cause marketing campaigns, international grant-making, and more. We also support individual philanthropists, at every giving level, including major gifts, to have an impact anywhere in the world through a variety of giving vehicles, including donor-advised funds. Lastly, we source and vet nonprofits across the globe while also supporting their capacity-building efforts.

Description

The Associate supports GlobalGiving's Growth team with a variety of needs, including prospecting, business development activities, relationship management efforts, supporting processes and workflows, maintaining data, and general administrative tasks in support of team outcomes. Success in this position will require the ability to multitask, willingness, and capability to work on a wide variety of tasks, be flexible, and work with and respond to multiple stakeholders and partners.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as an early point of contact for prospects and donors, providing exceptional customer service modeling standards, and expectations.
  • Use customer service tools, like Zendesk, and customer relationship management tools, such as Salesforce and HubSpot, to track communications and discover and facilitate outreach.
  • Support prospecting using standard research tools, such as iWave or WealthEngine, to deliver comprehensive, relevant, and current research to support business development and fundraising activities.
  • Support proposal and content creation, as requested and in response to prospect, partner, and donor needs.
  • Scan media and other channels for opportunities to engage prospects, partners, and donors, including for marketing, recognition, and general stewardship.
  • Support introductory, cultivation, and stewardship calls and meetings through scheduling, preparing advance briefing materials, taking notes, and assisting with follow-up.
  • Support new and existing corporate partnerships by building giving pages, generating charitable gift cards, and creating impact reports.
  • Support knowledge and management of charitable gift card products.
  • Support timely, comprehensive, and complete data entry in the Customer Relationship Management platform.
  • Complete general administrative tasks, such as scheduling, meeting and event planning and execution, travel and expense management, etc.
  • Provide discrete project management, as requested.

Required Qualifications

This position is a great fit for those with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a nonprofit, business, or social enterprise.
  • At least three years of combined experience in sales, business development, fundraising, or corporate philanthropy.
  • Experience in support roles delivering high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong orientation towards conciseness, clarity, persuasion, and responsiveness.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to work within deadlines in a fast-paced and collaborative environment while maintaining attention to detail and remaining flexible.
  • Comfort and enthusiasm working in an entrepreneurial and dynamic environment.
  • Experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel functions, and Salesforce (or equivalents) is required.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition, the ideal candidate would also have some or all of the following qualifications:

  • Tech-savvy with enthusiasm for learning new systems and technologies.
  • Experience with email marketing tools, such as Hubspot, and reporting and analytical tools is preferred.
  • Interest in international relations, CSR, ESG, disaster, or crisis relief.
  • Commitment to Race, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (REDI) principles.
  • Commitment to community-led principles and GlobalGiving core values.
  • Ability to work autonomously with remote management.
  • Comfort with taking the initiative to identify problems and advance solutions.

Salary + Benefits

Salary range: $50,000 - $70,000

Location

This is a full-time position reporting to the Chief Growth and Communications Officer. This role can be based in Washington, D.C., working from GlobalGiving's office (including a hybrid work approach) or be fully remote within the continental United States.
