
Technical Writer
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer to support the creation, maintenance, and management of comprehensive technical documentation for a Federal Government customer. This role is critical in ensuring all system documentation accurately reflects architecture, interfaces, security posture, and application functionality while adhering to applicable contract and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Write, edit, and maintain a wide range of technical documents, including:
Functional descriptions
System specifications
Requirements documents
User guides and manuals
Technical diagrams and interface control documents
System security documentation
Business proposals, reports, and briefings
Ensure continuous documentation updates throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Maintain the project documentation repository in SharePoint.
Collaborate closely with technical teams, project managers, and subject matter experts to gather and verify information.
Research and incorporate technical and regulatory background information into project deliverables.
Ensure compliance with contract deliverables, formatting guidelines, and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field — or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in technical writing or a related field.
Proficiency with SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite, and other documentation tools.
Strong understanding of technical documentation standards and best practices, including SDLC and systems engineering principles.
Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly content.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with federal or government contracting environments.
