Digital Media Specialist I

Position Overview

In support of this vision, the Digital Media Specialist will support the nation’s premiere tolling authority serving 1.6 million daily travelers, six million I-PASS customers, and 294 miles of toll highways through the development, design and delivery of a wide range of media content, playing an integral role in the agency’s overall communication and marketing efforts. The candidate will leverage their creative design and production skills to deliver engaging content across all traditional and new media channels, while playing a critical role in the delivery of information to employees, customers, stakeholders and the general public. The position requires adeptness at managing new technologies, platforms, and digital communication channels necessary to communicating the activities of a large organization, while staying current on the latest trends in multimedia production and content delivery. 

 

This position resides within the Stakeholder Engagement Department and reports to the Senior Manager of Marketing. The incumbent has no subordinates and assignments flow through the Senior Manager of Marketing, the Senior Manager of Stakeholder Engagement, and the Chief of Stakeholder Engagement.

 

Essential Job Functions

 

Digital Media Specialist will be responsible for the development and production of multimedia content for the Illinois Tollway including videos, photos, graphics, website and social content, and other digital materials. This includes all necessary videography, photography, design, animation and digital editing required.

  • Animated videos & infographics
  • Posters & promotional materials
  • PSA’s
  • Web design and development
  • Reports & newsletters
  • Livestreamed events
  • Publications
  • Presentations & project updates
  • Print setup and design

 

The position also supports the ongoing production of collateral materials for employees, departments, executive leaders, agency stakeholders and customers for use at Tollway facilities, oases, customer service centers, roadway facilities and other locations where needed. 

 

The position collaborates with the Communications and Marketing team from conceptual development through implementation, working across the agency to capture and deliver media content for all requested multimedia and digital communication deliverables. Further, this individual will work closely with agency IT to provide agency-wide support for the delivery of employee communication and media delivery via all internal media channels. These services include but are not limited to: 

 

  • Employee engagement materials and visuals
  • Agency-wide photography and videography support
  • Audio/Visual & lighting support for public and stakeholder engagement events
  • Facilitating webcasts of official agency activities
  • The cataloging of all collateral digital media assets
  • Maintenance of all agency audio/video equipment.

 

At all times, the candidate will deliver the highest quality of work and show a great amount of flexibility and creativity, with the ability to multitask, change direction, and work quickly.

 

Qualifications

 

Education (Required)

 

  • Associate’s degree in creative media production, multimedia design, digital design, digital marketing or related field or an equivalent in related coursework, certifications or work experience with an accompanied portfolio of work reflecting their capabilities.

 

Skills and Experience (Required)

 

  • Must have 2-3 years’ experience with Adobe CC 2017 Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Illustrator and Dreamweaver, with a mastery of Premiere Pro.
  • Possess a proficiency in the creation of motion graphics, animation, and multimedia content.
  • A demonstrated proficiency with capturing video and still photography with experience using DSLR and digital video cameras, and a portfolio demonstrating an understanding of photo and cinematic lighting and digital enhancement skills is imperative.
  • Strong familiarity with social media and online content management platforms and the latest trends and best practices for multimedia applications.
  • Must manage multiple projects successfully, working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
  • Experience in supporting events with audio/visual equipment including sound systems, multi-boxes, and livestream technology is a plus.

 

Education (Preferred)

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in creative media production, multimedia design, digital design, digital marketing or related field.
