JOB SUMMARY:

​​​​The Development Manager, a key position in the Development Focus Area, supports the organization through fundraising, donor engagement and stewardship, event planning, and general support. This role is primarily focused on individual giving and requires strong attention to detail, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills that will drive donor engagement, implement a multichannel fundraising strategy, and secure revenue. This position reports to the VP of Development.  

 

DESIRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit development. 
  • Computer skills as follows: 
    • Microsoft Windows Operating System – Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher. 
  • Familiarity with basic graphic design (Canva, etc.) a plus. 
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed. 
  • Adheres to all YWCA GP values. 

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: 

  • Dynamic individual with a proven track record of successful fundraising project management and revenue generation, particularly with individual donors. 
  • Tangible experience with both donor acquisition strategy implementation, and cultivation and expansion of existing donor relationships over time  
  • Possesses excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors and build long-term relationships.   
  • Experience in event planning and executing revenue generating initiatives such as annual fund, major gifts, planned giving, corporate partnerships, etc. 
  • Experience collaborating internally and creating processes that support development operations. 
  • Must possess a creative, energetic, and customer-service oriented work ethic and support the values of the association: Equity, Stewardship, Collaboration, Excellence, Dignity, Wholistic, and Integrity.   
  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality. 
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and developed project management skills. 
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage competing deadlines. 
  • Strong analytical skills for donor segmentation, tracking, and reporting. 
  • Mission-driven, adaptable professional comfortable with ambiguity and a fast-paced nonprofit environment. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Support the development and execution of individual giving strategies, along with managing other revenue generating projects tailored to donor type and focused on increasing donor retention, acquisition, and overall campaign success. 
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors while ensuring effective communication and stewardship to enhance their connection to the organization's mission. 
  • Work closely across the Development Team to plan, coordinate, and successfully execute multichannel annual fundraising campaigns (direct mail, email, social media, and in-person events). 
  • Actively solicit and engage past, current, and potential donors and partners, and oversee donor recognition, impact reports, and intentional relationship-building strategies. 
  • Assist as needed in the development of creating and writing proposals, narratives, and reports. 
  • Manage and/or support fundraising and stewardship events, including creating and executing meaningful opportunities for engagement with donors and working collaboratively with the Development Team on activities like the Equity Awards. 
  • Provide logistics and day-of support to events as needed. 
  • Ensure documentation for accurate donor records and tracking and generate reports to analyze and track campaign progress and effectiveness. 
  • Support the development of marketing materials, donor communications, and promotional activities that effectively convey the impact of donations and inspire giving. 
  • Contribute to the achievement of annual fundraising goals by actively participating in the planning and execution of strategies that drive donor support. 
  • Represent YWCA GP at programmatic events, community events, networking functions, and donor meetings.  
  • All other duties as assigned by the VP of Development and/or CEO.
