Development and Communications Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:

The Development and Communications Coordinator will play an important role in the growth and sustainability of PCA-NJ and its subsidiary the Child Wellness Institute. The individual in this role, will be responsible for researching and soliciting grant funding from foundations, businesses/corporations, and government sources, along with assisting with event planning and production, managing social media, volunteers and general development administration. The ideal candidate will possess experience working with non-profit organizations, with demonstrated success in building relationships, administration, marketing and fundraising.

This is a part-time, hybrid/remote position with presence occasionally required.

MAJOR RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Research opportunities for grant funding, contributions and scholarships from foundations, businesses, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Assist in building and strengthening media and marketing strategy.
  • Create and post social media content.
  • Support fundraising campaigns, public awareness and other communications.
  • Participate in the development and execution of comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet organizational goals.
  • Assist in coordination of fundraising events, logistics, community outreach, volunteer activities and event follow up.
  • Explore new avenues and opportunities to increase PCA-NJ’s visibility and generate donor activity.
  • Enter donations in fundraising database and generate thank-you letters.
  • Coordinate distribution of pinwheels to the public and partner agencies for national Child Abuse Prevention Month.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • 2-5 years of experience in a nonprofit development or administrative role (internships and fellowships included).
  • Demonstrated experience and confidence in data management, organization, analysis, presentation and project management.
  • Experience in customer service or donor relations.
  • Experience in event planning, including logistics management and volunteer coordination.
  • Proficiency using software tools to manage donor databases and online campaigns.
  • Experience with various social media platforms and posting engaging, donor action content.
  • A related degree from an accredited university is preferred; but relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Compensation: $23-$26/hr
