Structural Engineer
The Structural Engineer position is intended for young engineers who have already had a few years of experience in the field of structural engineering and are ready to take on more responsibility. Engineers will be working from the Rhinebeck, NY office under the limited supervision of Supervising Engineer and have the chance to quickly take on more leading roles. Engineers will be responsible for the development of structural design, details, drawings, and calculation. Typical projects include high rise residential and mixed-use buildings, educational and renovation and rehabilitation projects. Engineers will be expected to conduct occasional site visits and meetings in NYC, Hudson Valley and the Caribbean as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering / Master’s preferred
- E.I.T. Exam/ PE preferred
- 3-8 years of relevant experience in the execution of commercial, institutional, or residential building projects. Experience in high rise and rehabilitation a plus
- Proficient in development of structural calculation, models, and contract documents
- Proficient with ETABS, SAFE, RAM, Excel or similar structural design packages
- Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD
- Solid knowledge of state and city building codes
- Strong commitment and willingness to learn new techniques and principles
- Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally
- Good organization skills
- Effective self-leadership and attention to detail
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements
- Ability to conduct site visits and structural observations
