STEM Forward Online Community Management Intern

Job Posting: STEM Forward Online Community Intern
Location: Remote | Hours: 4–5 hours/week | Compensation: $2000

Science ATL is seeking a motivated and tech-savvy STEM Forward Online Community Management Intern to support the growth and engagement of our internal online community platform. This platform connects students, educators, and STEM professionals across Metro Atlanta through the STEM Forward initiative — a program designed to increase leadership, equity, and innovation in STEM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and moderate the STEM Forward online community platform
  • Schedule and post regular content updates, discussions, and announcements
  • Support engagement among members through events, spotlights, and conversations
  • Respond to questions, flag concerns, and maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment
  • Track engagement metrics and provide monthly summaries to the STEM Forward team
  • Occasionally attend local STEM events or meetings

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with online platforms such as Mighty Networks, Slack, Discord, or similar
  • Strong written communication and organizational skills
  • Experience working with youth, or moderating online communities
  • Interest in STEM education, equity, or community engagement
  • Ability to travel within Metro Atlanta for in-person opportunities when needed
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting

Commitment:

  • 4–5 hours per week
  • Remote with required occasional local involvement (Metro Atlanta-based)
  • Internship duration: August 2025 – May 2026 (flexible)
