Summary:
The Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as an Economic Research Intern. Located in the vibrant heart of Atlanta, we are a dynamic organization committed to promoting economic growth and development in the Metro Atlanta region. As an intern with our Economic Research team, you’ll contribute to meaningful work that directly impacts the future of the Metro Atlanta region.
Position Overview:
We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented intern with a strong interest in economic development to join our team. This is an in-person role based at our downtown Atlanta office, offering hands-on experience with data-driven decision-making, regional analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Track and maintain regional economic activity data
- Support economic initiatives by researching key regional partners
- Conduct pricing surveys for cost-of-living index updates
- Assist in the preparation of research publications and reports
- Partner with other departments in support of corporate and economic development events
- Represent the Chamber at expos, meetings, and local events
- Conduct independent research on the Atlanta Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA)
Qualifications:
- Current graduate student or recent graduate in Economics, Public Policy, City Planning, or a related field preferred
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Proficiency with data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Tableau, or similar)
- Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
- Highly self-motivated and organized
- Passionate about regional growth and economic development
- Ability to reliably commute to the downtown Atlanta office; this is an on-site internship
